I don't know how to explain this, but when I asked for enemies to lovers... THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED.

I am absolutely in love with this book!
"There are victors and victims. Decide who you want to be." - Kingdom of the Wicked.
Overview:
This book is magical, twisty, dark, mysterious, and everything else that I need from a fantasy murder mystery. The story takes place in a dark reimagination of Italy, where ancient witch families practice their art in secret. When young witch Emilia's twin Vittoria is found mysteriously dead, linked to a string of murders that have been happening across the area, Emilia is desperate to find out who is behind them. Then, she comes across Wrath, a Prince of Hell, who she has been warned about since childhood to stay away from. With a little banter and some forbidden spells, she agrees to solve the mystery side-by-side with him.
Honest thoughts:
I'm going to be honest, I wasn't the biggest fan of Stalking Jack the Ripper, by the same author. It just didn't deliver in terms of what I was going for, so I was a little hesitant to pick this one up. But I'm so glad that I did! This book has literally everything that I need. I can't say that enough. With a beautiful Italian setting, a dark vibe, and a mysterious plot, I simply cannot get enough of this book. It is absolutely amazing.
Vibess:
Now in terms of the exact vibes this book gives me, I would have to say that this song is very much like Toxic by Britney Spears. Kingdom of the Wicked is an enemies-to-lovers where Emilia's love interest is a Prince of Hell himself. She knows she's not supposed to fall in love with him, but well, she can't help it. It's "toxic", but it's also wholesome.
...And in conclusion:
This is a very fast-paced book which means that every word on every page has a meaning to it. The thing that I especially liked about this book was that it combined elements of fantasy and thriller very well into one book. It is an amazing experience, and I think it would be great for someone trying to get out of a reading slump. I cannot wait for the second book! I need to see more of Wrath, like immediately.
